Hateable like me

You can hate a person just by looking at him/her: the hair, the smile, the look, the clothes. Anything can trigger negative feelings. You just have to go with that flow and any proof that person is not horrible will have no influence on you.

I don’t know if we could say a good thing about every person we’ve met so far, maybe they haven’t impressed us in a positive way, but we can most certainly bitch about all of them. There must have been something to annoy us at one point. It’s only human! For every nice gesture and person who smiled thanks to you, there is an unhappy person, someone who feels neglected or discriminated against.

It’s human to be annoyed, but above that, I think it’s human to be hateable (being available for hate).

We are hateable with every gesture, every choice we make and tear we drop. Because all these are movements on a map filled with people and, inevitably, when we go one way we get closer to some and estrange from others. We are, in essence, controversial.

Some are more controversial than others, true. It depends on how far we move from the center of the map or, in other words, how extremist we are. And how much we show of our personality we show to others. But still, we are always lovable to some and hateable to others.

That’s the breakthrough. We’re both good and evil, pleasant and repulsive, smart and stupid. It only depends on where we’re standing when we’re judging. There is no black and white. And that’s why the big picture is important: we need to see the balance between the smiles and the tears someone provokes. And the reasons. The intentions. The more information we have, the better we see the tone of gray.

Anyway, we are hateable. That’s our most human trait. Every person stands for the things another one hates. That’s life.

Vezi ca ai uitat subtitlul blogului in romana.

Inteleg ca ai un respect profund pentru alte nationalitati dar “what about us – fucking romanians?!?”

Te-ar incanta putina recunoastere internationala, nu? LOL. Dar cu ce? Filosofie ieftina?

Dar destul… ca sa fiu in ton cu blogul: this s*** ain’t worthed anyway!

Inteleg ca ai un dispret profund pentru cei care vorbesc / scriu si in limbi straine – de tip “sunt mandru ca sunt roman”?

I was just thinking the other day, it’s amazing how loved I am by some and how hated I am by others. Luckily for me, it’s only the ones who love me that count, and the ones who hate me are fewer. Unless I am in utterl denial, hehe.

But you know what they say: only the interesting people can trigger extreme emotions.

PS: And I’m pretty sure that the word you’re looking for is “hateable”. 😉

it is far more common to hate in others those aspects of yourself that you see more accentuated – whether for better or for worse. it sticks with you far longer than the unpleasantness of dissenting ideas or the triviality of a tic.

    Stingo,
    thank you. 😉

I do think though that the persons who hate as matter a bit, otherwise how would we grow if we only got positive feedback?

You can grow with positive feedback only. It’s like water to a plant.

And anyway, hate is not negative feedback. It’s just hate. Like weeds, you know. Don’t let it grow.

Listen to Stingo; he’s right. And life is short.

I had the strangest dream last night. I dreamt I went home and you waited for me at the airport in a silver-blue BMW (!?), all smiling. You gave me a ride to the train station and talked a lot, very energetically, about changes in Bucharest, and your hair made waves when your head was shaking.

Isn’t it funny that you can trigger dreams in people you never met? 🙂

    Hey Andressa,

What’s with the “Hatable like me” title?

I hope you’re not thinking of yourself as a hateable person cause you’re not from what i’ve seen here.

Surely some stuff about you does suck, like …
    – you’re a Loredana Groza fan (GROSS!!!)
    – you like Harry Potter (I’m throwing up)

but anything else about you is just soo great!

    PLZ don’t get upset 🙂
