M., my Finnish friend, has a talent to describe simple, beautiful things. Don’t know if she is aware of this skill… For example, in Finland, she used to say about our “fluffy slippers” (duck feathered slippers): “Don’t you just love getting in bed with the fluffy shoes still on, because it’s really, really cold, and after you get warm, taking them off in your sleep without even realizing it?” That was exactly the feeling I had about my fluffy shoes.
Or, (if she had too much to drink) she would say that she loves me very, very much.

29/11/2007 at 7:12 PMActually it’s a very complex theory. Cold weather in Finland leads to fluffy slippers, their quantity being indirectly proportional with the amount of alcohol consumed. Too much alcohol leads to feelings of love, caused by the lack of fluffy slippers in your life. That saves the rabbit population. So alcohol is good for you and the wildlife!

30/11/2007 at 5:41 PMThere’s no such think like “too much drink” in Finland, whether you are in Kaarle, Onella, Studio 51, Lux or all over.
